Project Example

Distribution Underground Asbestos Program

Overview: The project required the development and execution of a sampling program to identify and document manholes, underground vaults, and livefronts containing asbestos. The program involved the inspection of over 5,000 manholes, underground vaults, and switchgears in British Columbia. This allowed us to create a detailed inventory of those that contain asbestos material, overseeing remediation, encapsulation, and removal of any friable asbestos from distribution assets. The project management team managed the collection, cataloguing, identification, and remediation of maintenance issues with internal and external resources associated with BC Hydro’s underground distribution system.
