Andres Briseno President
Jovan Kovacevic VP, Distribution & Corporate Affairs
Jovan Kovacevic serves as Vice President of Distribution and Corporate Affairs at ZE Power Engineering. He is directly responsible for the delivery of distribution design services across multiple programs and plays a key role as a client liaison. Leveraging his comprehensive understanding of the company, the industry, and client needs, Jovan contributes to a range of strategic corporate initiatives.
Jovan began his career at ZE Power Engineering in 2005 as an Engineer-in-Training, initially working in substation design before transitioning to distribution engineering in 2008. Over his 20-year tenure, he has advanced through increasingly senior leadership roles in engineering, project management, and contract management, serving in an executive capacity since 2015.
Throughout the company’s evolution and Jovan’s career, he has grown alongside ZE Power Engineering—building high-performing engineering teams and embedding a culture rooted in quality, integrity, and service excellence. Known for his collaborative and empowering leadership style, Jovan places a strong emphasis on employee development and mentorship, and is committed to helping every team member reach their full potential.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Jovan holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. Outside of work, he enjoys hands-on projects and a wide range of hobbies, and resides with his wife and two children in the Southern Gulf Islands.
Anahita Ghobadi was appointed Vice President of Engineering at ZE Power Engineering in April 2025. In this role, she leads the company’s multi-disciplinary engineering teams and is responsible for the delivery of complex utility infrastructure projects across Canada. Her leadership drives technical excellence, operational efficiency, and client-focused solutions that support capital programs, end-of-life asset replacements, system upgrades, value engineering, and long-term grid modernization initiatives.
Anahita began her career at ZE Power Engineering in 2013 as an engineer-in-training and has since advanced through a series of technical and leadership positions, including Civil Engineering Team Lead and Manager of Engineering. Over the past decade, she has played a pivotal role in the successful execution of hundreds of underground and overhead electrical infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on system resilience, constructability, and regulatory compliance. Most recently, she has championed process improvements to strengthen the company’s quality management system and streamline civil and electrical design workflows.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Anahita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Birmingham and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from University College London. She is known for her collaborative leadership, dedication to mentorship, and passion for enabling high-performing teams to deliver innovative and dependable engineering solutions.
Yasif Patel is ZE Power Engineering’s Vice President, Finance and Human Resources. Yasif’s team provides all financial services throughout the organization which includes budgeting, corporate planning and forecasting to help the Engineering stakeholders in complex financial decisions to move the company forward. Yasif also leads the HR team which supports employees through all stages of their employment life cycle. Yasif has been with various ZE companies since 2013 and had held a variety of different roles within ZE.
Yasif is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University (SFU). Yasif has spent time in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) to help file taxes for free for low-income Canadians requiring tax assistance.
John leads ZE Power Engineering’s business development activities which include strengthening relationships with existing clients as well as breaking out into new business categories building meaningful and collaborative connections with leading-edge corporations. He is excited to be a part of ZE’s vision to accelerate growth.
John has a unique talent when it comes to combining industries, business models and value propositions in an unusual and innovative mix creating untapped opportunities. He describes this approach as “Creating something from nothing”.
His career time at Procter & Gamble as a new product initiative launch manager provided him close-up interaction with P&G’s Marketing and Finance Teams setting the stage for John’s 360° view on business. He broke into the Energy Industry as a Project Manager at Amec Foster Wheeler and later joined ZE Power Engineering. John earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Andres Briseno is an accomplished electrical engineer and executive leader with an MBA and over a decade of experience in the energy and infrastructure sector. He began his career at ZE Power Engineering as a Senior Project Manager, quickly distinguishing himself through a strong track record of delivering complex projects. His strategic mindset and results-oriented leadership let to his promotion to Vice President of Transmission, where he oversaw critical operations, organized and optimized the company’s PMO, and played a key role in improving business performance and execution across the organization.
In 2024, he was appointed General Manager. Through focused operational reviews, cost optimization, and performance-driven leadership, he successfully led a full business turnaround—achieving sustained profitability in less than a year. This achievement laid the foundation for his appointment as President.
As President of ZE Power Engineering, Andres is focused on guiding the organization into its next phase of growth. His vision centers on expanding market share, improving profit margins, and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. He is committed to driving long-term value for customers, employees, and stakeholders alike.
