Distribution Underground Asbestos Program
The project requires the development and execution of a sampling program to identify and document manholes and underground vaults, and livefronts containing asbestos. The program involves inspection of over 5,000 manholes, underground vaults and switchgears in British Columbia, creating a detailed inventory of those that contain asbestos material, in addition to overseeing the remediation, encapsulation, and removal of any friable asbestos from distribution assets. Further, the project management team is also tasked with managing the collection, cataloguing, identification, and remediation of maintenance issues with internal and external resources associated with BC Hydro’s underground distribution system.
