Senior Distribution Design Engineer

The Opportunity

As a Senior Distribution Design Engineer, you bring sound technical knowledge of distribution facilities to our team. You are experienced in developing engineering solutions for client projects and possess a high level of communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. This position operates under general supervision with work assigned in terms of specific objectives.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of engineering tasks for client projects. Work may include but is not limited to:
Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
Specification of insulation and conductors.
Site visits and resolution of any issues that may arise. Site inspections during construction phase of projects.
Preparation of all required documentation for a project (budgets, schedules, work plans, technical specifications, tender documents, bid evaluation, technical reports, project calculation, etc.)
Final review and approval of drawing for issuance to customer.
Allocate tasks to team engineers and drafters and provide guidance of those tasks throughout project.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, associates and team members.

Requirements

Professional Engineer designation (or eligible for immediate registration with APEGBC or the State of Washington).
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
10-15 years of experience in the electric utility or related engineering field.
A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Solid organizational and time management skills.
Travel may be required for short periods of time.
Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD software would be an asset.
