Engineering Project Manager
The Opportunity
ZE Power Engineering is an innovative industry leading company that provides engineering services to the electric utility industry. We are currently seeking an individual as a project manager to lead our generation, transmission, substation and distribution projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a great team environment at a fast-growing company.Responsibilities
- Managing transmission and distribution projects, including substation projects, ranging in voltage from 14.4kV to 500kV.
- Reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project.
- Conferring with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Directing and coordinating activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Reviewing progress reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Preparing project reports for management, client, or others.
- Conferring with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Coordinating project activities among clients, contractors, suppliers, associates and team members.
Requirements
- APEGBC registration or eligibility for registration.
- PMP certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the electric utility or related engineering field.
- Ability to analyze electrical problems; ability to interpret & evaluate various technical studies & data; ability to define & develop criteria & cost estimates for plant modifications &/or other major projects.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment; bus and equipment arrangements; support structures and insulators; ground grids and grounding studies; station service design; and cable systems would be an asset.
- Excellent oral and writing skills.
- Ability to provide technical direction to technical support staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various internal & external sources for the purposes of gathering & relaying information, resolving issues of concern, etc.
